The overall goal of this priority result area is to enable 16.5 million children without appropriate family care and their families, including children on the move, to benefit from care and protection services by 2015. Millions of children globally are without appropriate care due to violence, abuse, poverty, conflict, HIV & AIDS, disability and humanitarian disasters with majority of these children placed in alternative care either with relatives or in institutions.
